SIX NRL TEAMS WEAR PURPLE

Six teams wore purple armbands in support of sexual assault victms in matches at the weekend: the Broncos, Sea Eagles, Rabbitohs, Roosters, Dragons and Warriors. The Daily Telegraph reported this and ran a photo but unfortunately provides no link to the article on its website. No AFL teams wore the armbands. In fact, the Western Bullodgs wanted to several weeks ago but were prevented from doing so by the AFL. Read The Age article about AFL refusal.
