WOMEN IN POLITICS

See the latest table showing the gender composition of Australia’s parliaments. The table compiled and regularly updated by Janet Wilson in the Parliamentary Library in Canberra is a very useful guide to checking out the number of women in legislatures around the country. Interestingly, it is places like the Northern Territory and Queensland that have the highest percentage of women (so does the ACT but that’s less surprising) leaving so-called progressive states such as New South Wales lingering way behind.
