I did not have the privilege of knowing Senator Ferris but others have told me of her stellar work for women’s health, especially in having federal parliament confront the fact that women get various gynecological cancers and that this previously taboo area needs to be openly discussed.
Senator Ferris died from ovarian cancer earlier this month.
