What about the increase in chances of stroke and diabetes? How bad this is for women with PCOS? Often used to treat PCOS (as I was, prescribed by a GYN), my (very well known, highly respected) Endocrinologist almost fell off his chair when I told him the GYN had me on it. I took myself off it due to other little side effects not even knowing the deeper, darker story.
With a family history of diabetes and cerebrovascular disease, the last thing I need is a “little yellow pill” adding to the already present risk factors.
As for the contraceptive part, it scares me that so many women rely on this man-made ingestable drug instead of common-freaking-sense!!
I couldn’t comment on the SMH/Daily Life site where I saw this posted, so took the time to hunt your website down.
Hi Anne
I loved reading your article in Saturday’s paper about the 50th anniversary of the pill and the difficulties of being a young lady in the 60′s. I have forwarded your article to my daughter as she has no idea of those times. I hope she shares it with a lot of her friends as well. Your article told the readers so much about those times.
regards
Margaret
